Working With Moonlit / How It Works

You do not need to know the technical name for what you need. Tell Moonlit what you are trying to build, fix, change, or accomplish, and the project can be defined from there.

Step 1 — Tell Me What You Need

Start with a Moonlit message or consultation. Describe the idea, problem, website, brand, graphic, or project as clearly as you can. If you are not sure whether you need branding, a redesign, troubleshooting, or something without a tidy label yet, that is fine.

Step 2 — Scope, Quote & Expectations

Before paid work begins, Moonlit defines what is included, what it will cost, the expected payment schedule, and any known third-party costs or dependencies. Requests that substantially expand the original project may require additional work, additional payment, or a separate project.

Step 3 — Payment & Project Start

Small projects of $250 or less are paid in full before work begins. Projects over $250 begin with 42% payment. The remaining 58% is due after final recorded approval and must clear before launch or final delivery.

Step 4 — Client Materials

Moonlit may need text, images, files, branding, account access, approvals, or other information from you. You are responsible for providing requested materials in a reasonable timeframe and for having permission to use anything you provide.

Step 5 — Build, Staging & Communication

Moonlit builds the agreed project and communicates through the available Moonlit client/project tools, messages, and staging or preview process as appropriate. Work is kept private while it is being developed unless public access is part of the project.

Step 6 — Corrections vs. Revisions

A correction fixes something that is not working or does not match the agreed work. A revision is a requested change to work that otherwise meets the agreed scope. Included revisions depend on the service or project agreement. Additional or out-of-scope revisions may require additional payment.

Step 7 — Review & Approval

You review the completed work and provide reasonably clear feedback. Final recorded approval means you have reviewed and accepted the completed work, subject to the applicable agreement and Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Step 8 — Final Payment, Launch & Handoff

For projects over $250, the remaining 58% is due after final recorded approval. It must clear before the site is launched or final files/work are delivered. After full payment, project-specific work is transferred as described in the Terms of Service.

Hosting & Site Care

Moonlit Hosting is available for Moonlit clients. Your domain remains yours, and Moonlit provides a clean handoff if you decide to leave.

Moonlit Site Care is optional ongoing WordPress upkeep and is available only for websites hosted by Moonlit. Hosting, Site Care, backups, maintenance, and other ongoing services are included only when specifically purchased or agreed.

Client Inactivity

A project may be classified as inactive or abandoned after 42 consecutive days without required client response, materials, feedback, or approval. Any restart terms or fees that apply should be communicated before work resumes.
